NESSA READING DEBATE CHALLENGE WINNERS!!

Newlands East Social Service Administration (NESSA) recently held a reading debate challenge on a book entitled “The man called Uncle”, published by local author named Vernice Rae. The participating schools included Lakehaven Secondary, Hillview Secondary and Newlands East Secondary School (NESS). The challenge was held at Cornerstone Ministries and each school had the task of reading and analysing the book. A series of questions based on the book were dished out to the schools and at the end it was Newlands East Secondary School who came out tops with the best responses and were finally adjudicated as winners by the respective judges on hand.

Newlands East Secondary School will now advance to the second round of the challenge whereby they will take on other schools.

The team consisted of the following learners, Noxolo Mtshali, Sthandiwe Mbatha, Luyanda Dlamini, Olwethu Ngcobo, Tia Abbot, Erin Lucas, Mpumelelo Makhanya, Khanya Khanyile and were coached by fellow teacher Mrs C. Anthony.

NESS would like to commend the team on a job well done and wishes them the very best in the next round of the challenge.
